Industrial Engineering

Industrial Engineering is the branch of engineering that involves planning, implementing, and controlling the system. Industrial Engineering finds ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes. They apply science, mathematics, and engineering methods to complex system integration and operations. In GTI (Mandalay), the first batch if opening at this academic year and they study 5 minor subjects and 3 major subjects. Among them, workshop technology of Industrial Engineering is the most class time which includes both theory and practical. So first-year students will know basic terms of industrial engineering. We are preparing for second-year courses such as control
technology, factory automation, and computer-aided design.

The total duration of the subject

(90 -Week)(3150- hour)


The Programme assessment will be made up of the assessment: following two components;

Practical Work — 60%
Examination (Theory ) — 40%
Practical Work

Learners must successfully complete a series of practical exercises throughout the course. The assessor will gather a collection of work that demonstrates evidence of a range of techniques.

Examination (Theory )

Learners must pass theoretical exams at the end of each semester.

Pass and credit Conditions

Pass marks-( 50) marks for engineering subjects and (40)marks for academic subjects

Credit mark(minimum)-( 65)marks

Course Duration

The students have to learn the practical and theories of IE courses at GTI (Mandalay) for 3-years. If the students have passed the examination and finished the internship, they get A.G.T.I Diploma Certificate.

Assessment Methods 

After finished the theories, examine the students by examination. For practical, assess the students by individual relate their job sheets.

Grading System  

  • 81-100  Grade “A”
  • 61-80   Grade “B”
  • 41-60   Grade “C”
  • 21-40   Grade “D”
  • 0-20     Grade “E” 

Admission Requirement details

Must be passed Matriculation Exam with Physics and Chemistry Subjects, and the total high marks of  English and Mathematics.

Career Prospective after Graduate

The students have passed out successfully from the Department can work in various government and private sector . The students can work in their expert field for their own career vocational job.
