Electronic Engineering

Welcome to the Electronic Engineering Department at G.T.I ( Mandalay). The Department offers A.G.T.I Diploma Certificate in Electronic Engineering. The Department is the study of four main electronic fields: Circuit, Computer, Communications, and Control. The students have passed out successfully from the Department can work in various government and private sector as an electronic engineer. The laboratory rooms are always opened for not only the electronic students but also the people who are interested in electronics. The students can study electronics subjects with modern teaching aids, trainer boards, equipment like a real world of work.

Communication is the transfer of information from one place to another. The difference between data and information are discussed. Noise is a kind of interference in the communication system. Radio transmission is a kind of communication system which is a kind of wireless communication. In the modulation techniques, the amplitude modulation, angle modulation, pulse modulation, and digital modulation techniques would be provided deals with the analog modulation and digital modulation.

Control means how to control the current and voltage flowing through the electronics devices. To switch on and off of different power electronic devices such as silicon control rectifier (SCR), silicon control switch (SCS), the disc and the triac. To understand how to test and control the SCR. A computer is a machine or device that performs processes, calculations, and operations based on instructions provided by a software or hardware program. A software program has many instructions. The different types of computer instruction are discussed.

The computer system, CPU and Memory SUB-systems are discussed.

Information of Year I

The last four subjects are taught in the Department. The students have to learn basic concepts, laws, and theories of Circuit Analysis and Digital Electronics subjects. In Electronic Laboratory, the students study the basic components an measuring instruments. Electrical Laboratory provides the students to understand the basic wire installation and also to repair and maintain electric kitchen appliances.

Information of Year II

In this year, students have to learn more about analog electronics and computer software and hardware. Motor control is one of the most useful in industrial so electrical machines subject is important in electronics students. The Department teaches and trains the students about Communication Systems not only theory but also practically. For Electronics Laboratory, Multi-sim Software is introduced and Solar System and design for Electrical Laboratory.

Information of Year III

Because of this year is final for the students, they should be applied to electronic engineering so that applied electronics subject is taught. Nowadays, most of the industries are using PLCs to control the process. In Industrial Electronics and Control subject PLC is introduced and students study in practical with Siemens LOGO! and 57-1200 PLCs. Students are taught communication and Networking subject to a career on with communications engineering. PCB making is also important for electronics engineers and for this reason Electronics Laboratory subject is taught to study PCB making.

Knowledge/Resources
After finishing the examination, the first-year students must go to the industries for their internship about 2-weeks. The second year’s students made their school projects. And them the third year’s students must go to the industries and ministry for their internship about 3-months. If the students finished the internship, they come back and make a presentation for their experience at the institute.

Course Duration 

The students have to learn the practical and theories of civil courses at GTI (Mandalay) for 3-years. If the students have passed the examination and finished the internship, they get A.G.T.I Diploma Certificate.

35 hours /week, 30 weeks/year

Assessment Methods 

After finished the theories, examine the students by examination. For practical, assess the students by individual relate their job sheets.

Admission Requirement details

Must be passed Matriculation Exam with Physics and Chemistry Subjects, and the total high marks of  English and Mathematics.

The students have passed out successfully from the Department can work in various government and private sector as an electronics engineer. The students can work in their expert field for their own career vocational job
